Colby Raha has made a habit of leaving it to the very last moment, and just like clockwork, he pulled another miracle out of the bag at X Games Quarter Pipe High Air 2025. If you’ve listened to the latest Riders Lounge Podcast, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

This time, I was joined again by my mate Clint Esposito from Two Wheels to Freedom, and we unpacked all the chaos that unfolded in Ventura. QuarterPipe is always unpredictable, but this one? This one was next level.

Corey Creed looked like he had it in the bag. He was solid, going bigger than anyone early on, and with the clock ticking down, it really felt like the gold was his. But of course… Raha waited until the final jump, as if he was just building the suspense for the Netflix documentary. One last run. One MASSIVE send. And boom — the whole leaderboard flipped.

It’s classic Colby. Calm under pressure, thrives in the chaos, and somehow always finds that extra gear when it counts. The crowd went mental. Judges had to triple-check the tape. Creed looked gutted — and who can blame him?

In the episode, we dig into the battle between Creed and Raha, how the whole QuarterPipe format is changing, and why this discipline might just be the most exciting thing in FMX right now. There’s also some behind-the-scenes chat, a few rabbit holes, and probably too many jokes — but hey, that’s what the Lounge is for.

First time ever, X Games will take the biggest sports to Chiba in Japan. FMX will be there and as it’s a clash with NIGHT of the JUMPs, it will be interesting to see which riders from Europe will make it to Japan.

This is a one-off World Records night. Inside a soccer stadium, so I don’t expect to see Seth Enslow doing World Record long distance jumps, but they are talking about the first Triple Backflip at a show! And Double Backies on a Quad Bike. Let’s see who will go for all of this and more!

May 28th – Prague / Czech Republic

Avoiding a clash with NOTJ, Gladiator Games had to reschedule from November 2021 and will be one day before the Freestyle of Nations. Let’s see if any riders are going to miss the after party and go to NOTJ or stay on and party in Prague afterwards?

19th February – Gosford / Australia

This will be huge! FK will be bringing in the big boys including Australia’s very best riders from Robbie Maddison, Rob Adelberg, Jacko Strong to Japan’s Taka Higashino. Even the young gun Ry Davis is looking to land his first 75ft backflip on a 125!!! The future is looking strong here!

Paul Everest, the man who likes to push buttons, tells us how the viral hit of the Froot Loops girl came to be after the Australian Advertising Standards Bureau tried to have him cancelled.

Unit Clothing became one of the biggest action sports brands, and 2 major campaigns were the reason it blew up so incredibly quickly.

The first campaign was the Fruit Loops bath.

While seemingly fairly tame by anyone’s standards, it hit a raw nerve with plenty of old fogies who had nothing better to do, than to complain to the Advertising Bureau.

Those complaints became the best thing that Unit could never have paid for. The amount of coverage that came from the complaint far surpassed the advertising budget that would have been allocated to it.

Who is able to pay for prime time news across all channels, every time a hint of extra news came to pass?

Whether Paul intentionally wanted to push the buttons that hard to receive so much coverage and really almost 0 backlash, has to be one of the best plays he could have had.

Even though the X Games website says he has 7 medals – in fact, he has 12 medals from all of the X Games events!  See, sometimes the internet can get things wrong.

But competing against the biggest names from Tommy ‘Tomcat’ Clowers to Ronnie Renner, Ricky Carmichael, Jeremy McGrath, Travis Pastrana, Brian Deegan, Twitch and taking gold medals over the lot!

One of the nicest guys in the sport, he was in the crowd with most of the NVHC crew like Dustin Miller and Mike Mason watching as Travis Pastrana jumped into the San Francisco Bay (and received a massive fine for his antics!) to becoming an X Games Gold medallist, FMX legend over 20 years and also getting into Monster Trucks.

Holding a record probably no other person on earth can claim, the only person to back flip a Motocross Bike and a Monster Truck!

Strap yourself in for a really cool interview with B-10 and I do have to say sorry for the technical problems we encountered on this one.  After doing the interview not once, but twice, the internet and USB port malfunctions were a pain in the backside, but I think you won’t be able to notice too much!
