The Riders Lounge Podcast has been shortlisted into the Top 8 for the Best Urban & Adventure Podcast on the Sports Podcast Awards!

Thank you to everyone who has listened to the podcast over the past almost 2 years that it would even be considered to be in any podcast award.  Maybe it’s there because there were no others in the category.  Whatever the reason, I’m actually pretty humbled and stoked that FMX is up against the other podcasts producers like Red Bull. 

Now I couldn’t really care less if I win or not, but, it would be pretty cool for this little project to rival the behemoth of Red Bull.

So as I would never click through to vote on things, I really don’t expect anyone here to vote either.  But, if you really do have the urge to throw us a bone, it would actually be quite cool to see FMX rattling the cages of the other sports on the list.

I have always kept the full podcast as Audio-only on all Podcast Platforms, simply because making it into a YouTube video is way too much work.

And I would say that was proven correct, but I really hope you enjoy the fact I had a full LiveStream from NIGHT of the JUMPs that I could cut and paste over the top of the event review podcast.

Freestyle of Nations in Basel was one hell of an event, it was unreal to return after 18 months and you could see all the riders were so damn pumped just to ride. And the fans were so loud they nearly blew the top off the St. Jakobshalle in Switzerland!

Imagine if you receive an invite to ride at the biggest event of the year.

Even if it’s only 2 days before the event, you do everything you can to pack your parts and gear, book a flight, find some wheels at your destination and somewhere to sleep.

Jump on the plane and get to the other side, just in time to find TSA has taken all of your parts out of the bag and left you a nice little note without even a ‘Sorry’ (I’m guessing).

Banks Hovey gave us a little insight into the 110s event that he was lucky enough to ride, and despite TSA being pains in the ass… he was able to get a bike up and running and threw down his run against some of the biggest names in the Moto industry and had a whole bunch of fun along the way.

Was cool to get his thoughts on the 110s discipline, the format which could change in the future, the cross over with Pat Casey from BMX jumping in and how Tyler Bereman put his name in the hat to even get the call in the first place!
